Perhaps one of the most difficult challenges that a video game developer can have is keeping its fan-base happy; gamers are a skeptical bunch that don’t tend to react well to change. It is this mentality that makes the task of developing for a long-running, fanatically loved franchise one of the most difficult in the industry. As developers try to find ways to keep the franchise new and exciting they are effectively walking a tight-rope; all it takes is just one wrong step and the series’ reputation is damaged inexorably. Square Enix has had to learn this lesson the hard way after the thirteenth major installment in its long-running and critically-acclaimed Final Fantasy series left many of the series’ fans feeling disenchanted with the franchise. Despite receiving decent critical reception, there is simply no denying that some of the series’ fervor has been dampened in the wake of Final Fantasy XIII, so much so that its direct sequel is one of the worst-selling Final Fantasy titles released on home consoles. But as time moves on I can’t help but ask the question “Have we been too harsh on Final Fantasy XIII?”
North American Final Fantasy XIV official site has opened the pages for "Disciples of Hand" and "Disciples of Land". New images are provided as well. Enjoy!

It seems that Amazon has stopped taking pre-orders for Final Fantasy Versus XIII on their site, and now it is pointing to other sellers. Until recently it was still up for pre-order for anyone who wished to buy it.
Here is how the page for it looks now, and here is how it used to look in October 9, 2012. The same is also happening on the Japanese Amazon page for the game. When you look at other SE games, like Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, it is still available for pre-order as usual. Another game which disappeared from sight long time ago, The Last Guardian, while in the similar situation as Versus has had no changes made to its pre-order page.
Is it possible something is happening with the game, and we might get an update on it during E3? It's likely. They could also be just updating the release day for the game as for those who have had the game pre-ordered before there is a message "Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date" on their order status. It's also interesting to note that the game has also been listed on a Swedish site a couple of days ago for pre-order on PS4. While that should be taken with a huge grain of salt, it's good to see some commotion going on with the game after all these years!
Thanks Eternal for the heads up!
According to Square-Enix Japan, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will make an appearance at this year's E3. There's a host of programs schedule for all to see.
The schedule timing is adjusted to Pacific Time, US. Click "Forum Discussion" below to view it.
Please be extemely excited! :D
