Tetsuya Nomura was a special guest on Square Enix Merchandise Radio this week and he was questioned about the status of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. As expected, he stated:
Even within the company it’s a very delicate problem. The date when we can concretely lift the ban has been decided and we are preparing for that moment. Maybe the details as to why information couldn’t be released might be touched upon at the next information announcement. I’m sorry it’s already overdue, but please wait just a little more.
He made another apology to the fans and he ask for more time. How many times have we heard this? I lost count. Anyway, some of us just can't lose our faith in this game! We must be tenacious.
We may hear more about the game when E3 2013 comes this June. So, FXN will definitely be on the look out.

It's no secret that Square Enix is struggling financially at the moment. Last month the company announced that its President and CEO of the last decade, Yoichi Wada, was stepping down after the company revised its full year financial forecast down by 16.5 billion yen. At the time Square Enix pinned the blame on poor console game sales, particularly for Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider and Hitman Absolution. Now they have provided us with further details on the matter in a recent financial briefing. Hit 'Read More' for details.

Siliconera is claiming that Square Enix's 3DS turn-based RPG, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, will definitely see a localization for the west after being able to confirm the news with "multiple trusted sources" at last week's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. This news comes only one month after the game's official Twitter account teased a potential western localization for the game.
While this still isn't an official confirmation, it makes it hard to imagine that the game won't be seeing the light of day in the west sometime in the future.
