Hajime Tabata showed off Final Fantasy Type-0 at PAX Prime 2014. While talking with IGN he discloses that the game is about 80% done. This could mean that we will be seeing a 2015 release for PS4 and Xbox One unless there are any setbacks.
The gameplay/battle system is also described in the IGN article. While the system isn't much different than the PSP version, it sounds like it is faster than its portable counterpart. Perhaps this speed difference is due to the higher framerate, as well as having more buttons/analog sticks on the gamepad (allowing for faster combat).

Square Enix has reported that they have recorded a profit of 3.4 billion yen for this last quarter ending June 30th, which is up from last year's loss of 493 million yen in the same quarter. The strong quarter has been associated by strong Final Fantasy XIV sales as well as their mobile games.

Square Enix announced via a press release and the Playstation Blog today that an HD version of the 2011 Playstation Portable release Final Fantasy Type-0 will at last be receiving a western release for both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
The localised version will be called Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and has been confirmed for Europe and North America. In the press release, game director Hajime Tabita said:
“The voice of our Western fans was instrumental in the development of FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0, and we’re very excited to release this title soon,”
Although the Playstation Blog originally stated this release was for Playstation Vita, that has since been corrected and there is no word of a Vita release at this time. Release dates, media or further information are not yet available, but we will share them all when they come.
Thanks to all the vocal fans who kept on the pressure for three years. Please be excited!

In what can only be described as an enthralling read, Square Enix announced a revision to their income forecasts for the coming fiscal year, up from 140-150 billion yen ($1.32 billion/$1.47 billion) to 155 billion yen ($1.52 billion).
The reasons cited include strong sales for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster,Thief and Tomb Raider, the latter of which has now found its way onto the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. This is all good news for a company that was looking on the ropes at the end of the last fiscal year, although the conspicuous absence of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII from the list of games cited with 'favourable sales' will likely be causing one or two strategy rethinks in the depths of the company.
