So they took the time they were given at a major Sony/gaming event with the world press watching to show off an old tech demo and an announcement for an announcement? Brilliant SE. -_-

I hope to see a fully new FF (probably XV) that will help kickstart the franchise again, after the way they divided the fanbase with XIII and disappointed nearly everyone with XIV.

It wil definitely be a completely new title, due to the way they worded it. It will either be Final Fantasy XV or a title with a spin-off name like Crystal Cronicles. It will definitely NOT be Versus XIII for the new system.

Here's my hopes. At E3, announce FFXIII vs for PS3 so we (the fans) don't feel cheated.
Also - announce a whole new Final Fantasy game utilizing all this great tech for a whole new generation.
Too much to hope for?
