Final Fantasy XIII News

Some pretty exciting information has been dug up from TGS.

To start off, in Vesus XIII, the Prince's name has finally been announced. Hi name IS..... Nokutisu or Nokuto for short. Also one of the female characters in the game(Maybe the blonde haird girl's) name is Stella.

Also, the voice actress for Lightning in Final Fantasy XIII is Watanabe Akino.

The translation are pretty rough, but that is what I was able to decipher from it.

EDIT: Some other sites like NeoGaf are reporting that the names are:
-Prince: Noctis
-Blondy: Stella
-Pigtails Girl: Sarah or Senon
-Pigtail

Technically noctis means "of night." But I'm liking it just the same. Actually, I think I like it more than Nox (which is the nominative form).



Nokutisu must be the Japanified version of Noctis. I don't know much about the Japanese language, but I think that you can't have two consecutive consonants in a word and need to end a word with a vowel, or something like that. Insert a "u" between the "c" and "t", change the "c" to a "k", throw a "u" at the end, and voila! you've got Nokutisu.



I'd rather have Pigtails girl be named Senon than Sarah. Sarah's way too ordinary for a FF character name. Besides, look at Terra from VI: in the Japanese version her name was Tina, but that was too common a name in North America, so it was changed to something much more out-of-the-ordinary here. FF is supposed to be about weird, made-up, or at the very least uncommon names.
