Yarr, the first club not related to FF on the site!

Alright, I know a good portion of members around here are fans of the famous Devil May Cry series, handed to us from the Gods (in a very nonreligious way) of entertaining games; Capcom.

In 2000/2001, the world was introduced to the first Devil May Cry game. It revolutionized the action genre, with its dazzling SwordxGuns combos, you fought as Dante, the Son of Sparda. The game became one of the highest scoring games ever.

The saga continued in Devil May Cry 2, released 2003. For the fans, it was a major letdown, where Dante's character had went from cocky to almost angsty.

Yet, Capcom once again surprised its fans by handing them the prequel of Devil May Cry 1, DMC3; Dante's Awakening. It was one of the toughest games ever, challenging both the thumbs as well as the patience of a gamer. The DMC saga was back on track.

Soon, we will be introduced to DMC4, where Capcom has taken a great risk in switching from Dante to the new, mysterious hero, Nero. Will it live up to its name?

I sure damn hope so.

This club is dedicated to the very pillars of DMC, The twin brothers Dante and Vergil, and their father, the legendary dark knight Sparda.
Also, I hope people share my warm welcome to the new hero, Nero. I won't judge him before I've played as him, and so far, I like what I see ^_^

Rules of this club:

X You must have played at least one Devil May Cry game.
X Try to be a good fan and don't go all like "h0mg Dante is teh secks". We all know Dante don't date girls who:
A: Shoot him in the head [fact]
B: Calls him teh secks [theory]
X You may discuss other characters related to DVSN (DanteVergilSpardaNero, if you say DVSN fast, it sounds like Division! z0mg), but this club is dedicated to the ultimate silver haired demon slayers.

The Balrog thing boss battle is said to be extreme! Fighting in a burning city against an enemy that's about hundred feet high seems fun >=D Classic DMC style!
I wonder if that is Fortuna he's attacking... O-o

I'm really looking forward to playing as Nero now ^^ I hope we'll get some more of his earlier life than we did on Dante..

I have the Game Informer issue that has like a 5 paged thing on DMC4 from TGS, an interview with the lead developer, etc, screens and content that they're considering.

It'd be great if we could still play as Dante, maybe something like Tenchu: Fatal Shadows where you alternate every so often between two characters to tell the story. I think that system would be pretty sweet. Or even something like DMC2, where you have two different scenarios, play all the way through as Nero, and then switch to Dante's game. That would work too. =)

I almost bought DMC3: SE again today. But alas. I GOT THE DMC NOVEL INSTEAD! W00T! I'm looking forward to starting it. The art is hella cool.

Ack, I've always wanted the novel X( I hear the story's abit off, but the art, as you say, is supposed to be spectacular! If you're ever able to scan in some pictures, do so <3

I was discussing Sparda on a Devil May Cry forum, when a member turned up with the ACTUAL concept art of Sparda himself! Straight from the DMC book!

I gotta say, the grim look of him is just... so much better than the purple robed one. We also started wondering whether the purple Sparda IS Sparda, or just the old, Legendary Dark Knight Dante! Who knows @_@

Yes, the art is to die for, I really love the style they approached, and I actually spent my Drawing I class today to experiment with it, I'll post my results in my art thread that I'll be making here shortly. =) But I'll see what I can do about getting some scans without mangling the book, I might just take some piccies with my digicam and upload them, would be easier probably, and more healthier for the book's condition. ^_^

I agree with you. Then again, I've always liked the grim look used with anything related to DMC, it's not a "happy" series, so the feel goes well.
