New trailer for E3, no Versus

In the most recent edition of Dengeki, Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that at E3 a new trailer will be shown for Final Fantasy XIII. Whether or not this will be in the Closed Mega Theatre remains to be seen, but it sounds like it may be shown during one of the press conferences.

Unfortunately Versus XIII will not make an appearance at E3 in any form.

After E3 there will be supposedly something brand new about Final Fantasy XIII revealed to the public, although details are very vague.

Welp, I hope that the new info about XIII makes up for Versus not being there. It better surprise me.

I think Nomura just killed e3 for me a little. I want to see at least something from Versus... =\

I also don't see the point of revealing news after the e3. It makes no sense since e3 is perfect for announcements. They always have to do everything backwards.

Anyways, I wonder what they mean when Nomura implies a "brand new" feature to FFXIII. I wonder if this has to do with adding the Japanese VA tracks to the PS3 version in the US (I would prefer if they reanimate the lips for the English VA's like Capcom did rather well in RE5).

Or maybe it's adding certain characters to the "playable roster". Who knows?

Hm, you're right about that. I hope we get a new trailer at TGS, but I was really hoping that we would get something at E3, since it's so close, date wise.

I don't care if it doesn't have the Japanese VA... it won't make a difference to me. As for RE5, I'm pretty sure that Capcom always had English VA for all the Resident Evils. There was never any Japanese voice acting to begin with, so they never had a problem with lip flaps.

Now, if SE could animate the lip flap of FFXIII like in KH, that would be great.

I'm excited about this brand new feature, but how long do you think that "after E3" really is?

Maybe some sort of online functionality? Maybe a side-quest or in-game sport or activity you could play online?

Haha I'm not too bothered about the lack of versus because I'm just so darn excited because ACC just arrived!! woooo!

SE is not having a conference, which kinda sucks, but they have a few of the closed rooms booked for the press.


And where did everyone get the idea the brand new thingy is a feature? It could be anything, a new character, etc.

I want a new trailer with some other place than the the place in the demo and all the pics , i hope they reveal othe ff13 features maybe minigames ? or world traveling ? ... i hope so

Hopefully a lack of Versus means they can concentrate more on FFXIII. I'm not too bothered about not hearing about Versus for now, so long as we get some juicy info on FFXIII. I wonder what the brand new thing is...

To be honest, I'm not that excited. Whether it's brand-new trailer or not, I don't care anymore. :neutral:

Seriously, first of all we hear news that they're not going to show up at E3 because of stupid swing flu. (That's swing not swine:mad, then they speculate FFXIII to be delay, now they say they have something big to reveal? Seriously, SE talks like a game of chance. I ain't risking that again.

I'll care again if something really big happens, like DKsigma worthy or at their next SE Party.

Considering that the game is still well into development, I'm not too shocked to not see any Versus news of late, at least for E3 '09.

I'm kinda glad though that Versus is taking a while. It gives developers a chance to really build and polish the game well (unless you're 3D Realms and take Forever! lol), not to mention it will give me time to finish FFXIII and still be able to save money to afford both games.
